Ronnie Leckie

Ronnie was born in Larkhall, Central Scotland. He is “studio trained”, his first employment in the “art” world being in an advertising design studio. He worked there for five years and then spent the next five years touring and working in Europe. Next followed four years at Nottingham College of Art where he took a degree in Fine Art, graduating in 1975. While studying there he met his wife Val and in 1976 they set up “Carraprint”, a design partnership manufacturing and publishing greeting cards and other items. Ronnie works in various media, traditional brush and palette, screenprinting, airbrush and is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading designers. He is best known for his subtle tonal images which are generally mixed-media works.
